For a few weeks there, the Boot basically became England HQ. We showed every England match bar one, opened for the strangest kick-off times we've ever had to schedule around and honestly had one of the best summers we can remember behind this bar.
Midnight kebabs and 2am football
Because 2026 was hosted across the Atlantic, plenty of games kicked off at times that would test a saint. If the football was on, we were open. Midnight kebabs for the late ones, doors open for 2am games - nobody had to watch England on their own at home. Massive shout-out to St George, who somehow ended up working every England match except one. Absolute legend. And a big thank you to everyone who came in whatever the hour - you made those weird kick-off times feel like the middle of a Saturday afternoon.
Sangria Sundays and the beer garden
As the tournament rolled on and the weather did its bit, the beer garden came into its own. Sunday lunches in the sunshine, sangria flowing (Sangria Sunday is a rebrand we can get behind), and screens outside so nobody had to choose between the football and the weather. For the semi-final, we fired up the BBQ.
The final: Argentina v Spain
And then, the final. Argentina versus Spain, 8pm kick-off, and a pub absolutely rammed with people - it was a proper good night.
